Eyes that glowed like fireflies followed her down the thorny path. The lights were almost beautiful in the way they dotted the forest, though their presence for the most part filled her with a sense of dread.⠀
Regardless of her feelings, she knew there was no running after what had been done. An attempt to escape would only elongate the inevitable. A deep rumble emanated from behind her and soon filled the air with a threatening presence.⠀
The beast was here.⠀
She accepted that in these moments she may very well be taking her last breaths.”
